THE 20TH DAY FASTING REFLECTION
The act of devotion of fasting is an opportunity for us to train ourselves to be able to eliminate the nature of Envy or Hatred.
The Messenger of Allah said :
“If one amongst you see a person who have an excess of treasure and appearance, then look to those people who are below”.
Basically envy or hatred is one of the liver disease that often obsess the mankind soul, which is the attitude of the sense of displeasure towards the enjoyment of others and it usually occurs because of the excessive of love to the earth. Whereas this nature have the potential to delete our charity like the fire utterly destroy the fire-wood, and therefore increase the belief to the Holy Quran as the guidance of life.
Allah Said :
"O' mankind, there has to come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers”.[Yūnus 57]
In fact people who envy or hatred, indirectly had opposed the authority of Allah, i.e. hates his favors given to others, not willing to accept the distribution of His gift; as well as feel any lack of inequity.
Allah Said :
“And DO NOT WISH FOR THAT BY WHICH ALLAH HAS MADE SOME OF YOU EXCEED OTHERS. For men is a share of what they have earned, and for women is a share of what they have earned. And ask Allah of his bounty. Indeed Allah is ever Mighty Knowing of all things”.[An-Nisā' 32]
“Blessed is He who sent down the Holy Furqaan (Holy Quran) upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner,.....He to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and who has not taken a son and has not had a partner in dominion and HAS CREATED EACH THING AND DETERMINED IT WITH PRECISE DETERMINATION”.[Al-Furqān 1-2]
Sometimes there are some people who is happy when see others in the state of distress, and that's the form of seduction or incitement of the Satan.
Allah Said :
"IF GOOD TOUCHES YOU, IT DISTRESSES THEM; BUT IF HARM STRIKES YOU, THEY REJOICE AT IT. And if you are patient and fear Allah , their plot will not harm you at all. Indeed, Allah is encompassing of what they do”.['Āli `Imrān 120]
People who envy will lose the balance of reason and blind hearts on earth, even later shall be more blind in the HereAfter.
Allah Said :
“And whoever is blind in this life will be blind in the Hereafter and more astray in way”.[Al-'Isrā' 72]
The heart or the mind is a very important part, if our heart is good, so all our charity will also good, conversely if our hearts are bad then our charity will be damaged due to our deeds, therefore avoid the nature of envy by :
●| Enhance Belief & Piety.
●| Be grateful to all His grace.
●| Complete the characteristic of Qana’aah(=accepted what it is, but it isn't submit to o.'s fate)
All grace and advantages belonging to someone is no other part of the "qadha’(= divine decree)" and "qadar(=value)" which we should compulsory believe, because it is Allah who determines all the affairs and grant all the best for us. Our duties are fully convinced that all enjoyment derived from Him and distributed in accordance with the wisdom.
Allah Said :
“And if Allah had extended excessively provision for His servants, they would have committed tyranny throughout the earth. But He sends it down in an amount which He wills. Indeed He is Mighty Acquainted and Mighty Seeing of His servants”.[Ash-Shūraá 27]
Mighty Right Allah with all His Words.
Allah Said :
“So remain on a right course as you have been commanded, you and those who have turned back with you to Allah, and do not transgress. Indeed, He is Mighty Seeing of what you do”.[Hud 112]
May later at the end of our act of devotion of fasting, our nature of envy or spite can already be removed, and can be resume continuously in the following months.
